Artemis

Artemis offers the 18-hour Firearms Safety Course required by New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for pistol permit applications, permit reclassification, and recertification. This isn't optional—if you want to carry in New York, this is the course you'll take.

The classroom instruction covers:

• •General firearm information and marksmanship basics
• •Conflict management, de-escalation, and situational awareness
• •Safe storage and transportation
• •NY State firearm laws and Article 35 (self-defense)
• •Interaction with law enforcement
• •Suicide awareness and prevention
• •Federal laws and disqualifiers
• •Adverse effects of alcohol and drugs
• •Concealed carry and restricted location laws

After classroom work, you'll demonstrate proficiency in:

• •Safe drawing, target acquisition, and re-holstering
• •Loading, unloading, and condition checks
• •Dry firing and safely discharging
• •Five rounds on an 11" × 25.5" target at 4 yards (12 feet)

• •Anyone applying for a New York pistol permit (it's required)
• •Shooters renewing or reclassifying their permit
• •Experienced shooters refreshing safety fundamentals

Artemis also offers advanced training through their Artemis Shooter Development program, covering pistol and rifle skills, optics training, defensive scenarios, low-light shooting, and competition development. They run USPSA matches and host a Ladies Lounge community.
