Jamestown Rifle Club incorporated in 1936 and moved into its current facility in 1951, then spent decades expanding. Today it's one of the most active shooting clubs in Western New York, hosting everything from competitive leagues to youth development programs.
The club operates: - 50-foot indoor range for pistol and small-caliber rifle use only - 50-yard outdoor rifle range with covered firing points - 100-yard outdoor rifle range with covered firing points - 15-yard IDPA pistol range (uncovered, pistol only) - Meeting room for members and events
Local law enforcement occasionally uses the ranges too, so members should check the club calendar for availability before heading out.

NYS Pistol Permit Classes - Taught by NRA & Chautauqua County Certified instructors (all volunteer) - $80 course fee; all proceeds support the club - For "Possess on Premises Only" permits (home storage + range transport) - Prerequisites: Must be 21+ (or turning 21 within a year); Chautauqua County resident or PA resident working in Chautauqua County; photo ID required - 5-hour class, 1:00pm start time - Indoors regardless of weather - Note: NYS requires separate 16-hour + 2-hour course for concealed carry permits
Hunter Education Course - NYS DEC certified rifle and bow courses - Offered twice yearly (spring and fall); next sessions August 17 (rifle) and August 23 (bow) - 8am-5pm, all-day format - For ages 11+; ages 11-16 need parental permission form - Topics: firearm handling & safety, parts & ammunition, marksmanship, laws & regulations, wildlife management, hunting ethics - Students must pre-register on NYS DEC website and complete homework before attending
