NY State Shooting Sports

The Delaware County 4-H Shooting Sports program, run through Cornell Cooperative Extension, offers youth hands-on training across multiple shooting disciplines. This is a youth-focused program designed to build marksmanship skills, sportsmanship, and conservation ethics alongside life skills development.

Young people who join develop:

The program provides a supportive environment in which young people can experience hands-on, fun learning experiences.

The program currently offers four main shooting sports:

All participants must attend a mandatory safety meeting for their chosen discipline(s) before beginning. Meeting dates and locations are announced as programs are scheduled.

This is a relatively new program for Delaware County, with plans to expand the number of disciplines offered in coming years. The program is built entirely on volunteer support—certified instructors and adult leaders make the experience possible.
