Castleton Fish & Game Protective Association, Inc. is a premier shooting range in Castleton-On-Hudson, New York, offering one of the region's most comprehensive firearm facilities. Established in 1927, this NRA Gold Medal Club provides multiple specialized ranges for rifle, pistol, shotgun, and clay target shooting.
The club operates four distinct shooting areas:
- •Outdoor Pistol Range - 30 covered firing points with turning targets at 25 yards, perfect for handgun practice and skill development
- •Outdoor Rifle Range - 100-yard range with 6 covered positions and 10 benches designed for 50-yard precision rim-fire competitions
- •Indoor Range - Climate-controlled 50-foot facility with 8 positions for .22 through .45 caliber handguns (no magnum rounds) and .22 rifles
- •Trap Range - Lighted regulation trap field with automatic trap machine, open to the public on Wednesday evenings at 5 PM ($5/round)
Castleton Fish & Game operates as a members-only facility, except for the public trap range events. The club maintains a member clubhouse and dedicated parking area. Regular club meetings occur the second Monday of each month (September through June) at 7:00 PM.
Beyond shooting sports, the association is deeply committed to conservation, wildlife protection, and outdoor education. The club partners with local schools, Boy Scouts, and 4-H organizations to promote hunter education, fishing safety, and environmental stewardship.
