North Troy Stag Rod & Gun Club traces back to 1983, when two clubs merged to create what's now a 200-acre facility off Cushman Road in Melrose, NY. The club promotes hunting, trapping, trap shooting, fishing, bait casting, boating, and firearms safety—all rooted in conservation and good sportsmanship.
The facility includes a clubhouse and multiple ranges:

Unlike many Capital District clubs, membership never closes. You'll need:
1. One main sponsor (member in good standing for 1+ year) 2. Two co-sponsors 3. Completed application form
Visit during a public event to meet members and experience the facilities before joining. Check the calendar for open-to-public shoots.

Meetings: - April–December: First Tuesday, 7:00 PM - January–March: First Sunday, 1:00 PM
Range Hours: 9:00 AM to sunset (outdoor ranges)
All shooters sign in and out via range books. Eye and ear protection required. The range master has final authority on the line. No alcohol, no diagonal shooting, no birdshot on rifle/pistol ranges. Carry out what you carry in—brass goes in dedicated pails.
