Afro Tactical

Afro Tactical teaches firearms safety and shooting skills through structured NRA-certified courses. Founded by Nathaniel Lee, an NRA Training Counselor and U.S. Army veteran, the operation focuses on creating an inclusive training environment for all shooters, regardless of background or experience level.

Afro Tactical offers both shooting and non-shooting courses:

Shooting Courses: - NC Concealed Carry Handgun Class ($80) - NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting ($160) - NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting ($150) - Personal Protection Inside the Home ($180) - Personal Protection Outside the Home ($180) - Defensive Pistol Marksmanship ($150) - FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation ($75) – 3-hour hands-on intro - FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation ($75) – 3-hour hands-on intro - Instructor courses available for pistol, rifle, and personal protection tracks

Non-Shooting Courses: - Gun Safety Seminar - Refuse to Be a Victim Seminar - Range Safety Officer certification - Chief Range Safety Officer training

Courses include both classroom instruction and live range time. Most full-day courses run from morning through afternoon, with private lessons available for personalized instruction. The $180 enrollment fee for multi-day courses typically includes a deposit (ranging from $75-$100 depending on course). New shooters hesitant about live fire can start with the 45-60 minute Gun Safety Seminar.

Classes cover firearm fundamentals, safe handling, shooting positions, ammunition knowledge, cleaning and maintenance, legal considerations, and self-defense scenarios. Instructors provide one-on-one guidance during range time and hands-on portions. Students receive training materials including pistol and shooting guides for continued education after course completion.
