Kemper Farms

Kemper Farms operates on Rainbow Canyon Road in Clayton, serving all of Johnston County with concealed carry permit classes and comprehensive handgun training. Joe and Pat Barbieri run the operation—they bring over 40 years of combined expertise in firearms instruction and personal protection training.

They offer several training tracks depending on your experience level:

• •Concealed Carry Permit (CCH) Classes - Full 8-hour certification course to qualify for your North Carolina concealed carry permit. You'll fire 30 rounds total (10 each at 3, 5, and 7 yards) and need to qualify with a minimum of 21 rounds on target. You also take a multiple-choice test. Classes run 9AM at the farm location.

• •Basic Handgun Training - 3-hour course covering fundamentals. Appointment-only, by calling Joe Barbieri at 919-830-8054.

• •Advanced Pistol Training - 5+ hour course for shooters who already know the basics. Cash only, $200.

• •Rifle & Shotgun Training - Call for pricing and details on specific courses offered.

Don't own a gun? No problem. Kemper Farms has handguns and ammunition available for training use. Bring your own firearm and ammo if you prefer—the course fee drops if you're using your own equipment.

Concealed Carry Classes:

Basic Handgun Training (3 hours):

• •Advanced Pistol Training - $200 (cash only, bring your own gun and ammo)

Both Joe and Pat are: - North Carolina Justice Academy Certified - North Carolina Justice Standard Division Certified Concealed Carry Firearm Instructors - National Rifle Association (NRA) Certified

• •For Couples: Your significant other with a valid NC concealed carry permit can attend your class for free. There's also a women's special: women can take a concealed carry course while their partner gets a FREE permit update—you only pay for one class.

• •For Groups: 10 or more people get a discount on concealed carry courses. Call for group rates.

• •Retake Policy: Failed the shooting proficiency exam or the written test? Retake that portion for free.

• •Saturday and Sunday classes require signup by 5PM the Friday before or you're out (call for possible last-minute openings)
• •Bring proof of your firearm purchase
• •Need eye and ear protection (or they can provide—ask when registering)
• •For CCH classes: you need 50 rounds of ammo and 2 magazines minimum
• •Payments are non-refundable, but you can reschedule with more than 24 hours notice
• •Classes may be rescheduled by the instructor if enrollment is too low
