Full description and what we offer
Northeastern Hunting Outfitters operates out of Harrellsville and Ahoskie in northeastern North Carolina, offering guided hunts across multiple game types and seasons. The operation maintains over 80 permanent stands on their hunting lands—a significant infrastructure investment that supports consistent success rates year-round.
Rifle season brings some of the most productive hunting on the East Coast. The outfit exclusively uses permanent stands during this period. Stands range from metal ladders with large baskets to free-standing towers and tripods—all maintained, well-positioned, and safe. Shots typically range from 75 to 150+ yards. They recommend a large caliber gun (.243 or larger) with an accurate scope. A range on the property lets you verify your weapon before the hunt begins.
The one-week muzzleloader season runs just before rifle season. Deer are still un-pressured and success rates are high. While they use more permanent stands than during archery season, they encourage hunters to bring climbers. Expect temperatures in the 70s and prepare for mosquitoes. Most shots fall between 5-150 yards.
One month of archery hunting with warm to hot weather (70-95 degrees). The operation hunts trails between feeding and bedding areas where deer remain predictable and un-pressured. They provide a few lock-on stands but encourage bringing personal climbers. A maximum of 6 hunters per archery trip keeps the operation manageable. The lodge includes an archery range with an elevated deck for practice. Camouflage net suits provide effective concealment—mosquitoes are significant here.
"Nothing else compares to the feeling you get sneaking into a secluded block of low ground timber, waiting for daybreak to bring the first sounds of a mature Tom."
North Carolina allows all-day spring gobbler hunting. The outfit limits harvest to TWO mature gobblers per stay. With diverse habitat across their land, hunters almost certainly get the chance to work a bird. Father-and-son trips are encouraged. One-on-one guide service is mandatory for first-time hunters and available upon request. Only 4 hunters per session—book early. Total camouflage is essential.
Hunting in flooded timber, beaver ponds, and open sounds with guides calling birds into range. Species include teal, wigeon, mallard, and wood duck. They also offer combination duck and deer hunts in December. If ducks show up, bagging your limit becomes highly likely.
Bear hunting is available through the outfitter.
The hunting lodge sits in the middle of their hunting lands on private property. It's comfortable, clean, and cozy—able to accommodate multiple hunters. Located five miles from Ahoskie, which offers restaurants, motels, hotels, and services. Lodging is included in all hunt fees.
