Full description and what we offer

Precision Rifle & Tool isn't a retail shop. They build complete custom rifles and provide specialized gunsmith services for competitive shooters, hunters, law enforcement agencies, and their SRT units. Everything except metal bluing and dipped camo patterns stays in-house, handled by bench-trained toolmakers, master machinists, and gunsmiths.

They specialize in five custom rifle packages:

  • Custom Tactical/PRS Package - Purpose-built for precision rifle series competition
  • Custom F-Class Open - Long-range competition rifles optimized for 1,000-yard F-Class matches
  • Custom F-Class T/R Rifle Package - Traditional rifle division competition builds
  • Custom Bench Rest & Varmint Rifle Package - 600-yard and bench rest competition platforms
  • Custom Long Range Hunting Rifle - Purpose-designed for field hunting applications

Each rifle receives complete assembly, function testing, and accuracy verification. Long-range competition and law enforcement rifles come zeroed and tested to deliver sub-MOA performance before delivery.

PR&T handles:

  • Custom rifle builds from component selection through final assembly
  • Barrel work and chambering (extensive reamer list available)
  • Stock fitting and finishing (including their proprietary Low Boy® designs)
  • Muzzle threading for suppressors
  • Action blueprinting and tolerance work
  • Load development consultation
  • Accuracy testing and zeroing services

"All custom rifles come assembled and with the correct ammunition, maintenance, and shooter's skill, our custom rifles will deliver day in and day out SUB-SUB MOA groups."

Ray Bowman designed the Low Boy stocks specifically for competition. The standard F-Class version has proven itself in championships worldwide. The Low Boy Benchrest model combines F-Class features with a rear design optimized for bench shooting. Both are offered in hand-laminated walnut and other hardwoods with custom fluting options like chain link and double helix spiral patterns.

Their customers win. Charles Ballard won the 2009 NRA United States F-Class Open National Championship, set a world record in F-Class Open shooting (200-13x at 1,000 yards in 2008), and won multiple national and regional championships—all using PR&T rifles and stocks.

Other customer wins include:

  • National F-Class Championships at Bisley, UK
  • Tennessee State F-Class Long-Range Championship (back-to-back wins)
  • Multiple Guardian Long Range event victories
  • National and regional podium finishes in F-Class, benchrest, and tactical divisions

New customers should start with their quick guide to selecting components and building custom rifles. Lead times vary based on current orders—call for accurate timelines.

PR&T backs all work with a guarantee that the services contracted will perform as intended or will be corrected at no additional cost.

Their process starts with intended use. A 600-yard benchrest gun (16-17 lbs, 30-inch barrel, light class competitor) has completely different requirements than a hunting rifle. They help shooters understand these compromises and select cartridges, actions, barrels, and stocks that match specific goals—whether that's 1,000-yard F-Class, benchrest accuracy, hunting, or law enforcement precision.
