Stone Mountain Outdoors opened in 2017 as a locally-owned firearms and outdoor supplies shop serving State Road and surrounding areas of North Carolina. Founded by Matthew Kennedy with co-owner Michael Maher joining in 2019, the shop has built a reputation for knowledgeable staff and reliable service.

What sets them apart: They hold an SOT Class 3 license, meaning they handle NFA transfers for suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), and short-barreled shotguns directly. They offer fingerprinting and photos in-house, cutting wait times on ATF approvals—currently running around 90 days with eForm 4 submissions.
