Odom Shooting Range sits in Jackson, NC, operated by the N.C. Wildlife Resource Commission as a safe, organized facility for recreational shooters and sportsmen. There's no membership fee, no range fees—just show up, follow the rules, and shoot.
Three separate shooting disciplines: - 100-yard rifle range with 8 shooting stations - 25-yard pistol range with 8 shooting stations - 3-D target archery range with 6 shooting stations
You bring ammunition and targets for rifle and pistol ranges. Archery uses field points only (no broadheads). Eye and ear protection are required everywhere.

Every shooter signs in with the Range Safety Officer, attends a safety briefing, completes a waiver, and gets registered for an NCWRC range pass. Firearms stay cased and unloaded until you're at the firing line. The RSO runs the range with clear "hot" and "cold" commands—shooting stops immediately when "Cease Fire" is called.
Age requirements: - 18+: Shoot without supervision - 13–17: Require direct adult supervision - 12 and under: One-on-one adult supervision only
No fully automatic firearms, binary triggers, or bump stocks. No steel, incendiary, or explosive targets. Ammunition restrictions include .50 BMG or greater, tracer, incendiary, armor-piercing, or steel-core rounds. No rapid fire, drawing from holsters, or shooting under the influence. Trap and skeet shooters are limited to 7.5, 8, or 9 shot at maximum 1300 fps.
Unsafe handling or rule violations result in removal from the range—no exceptions.
