Full description and what we offer
War HOGG Tactical was born in 2002 when Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) students returned from Afghanistan and told Rick Hogg: "That stuff you taught me saved my life." That moment crystallized his mission—translate 13 combat deployments and advanced training experience into practical, measurable firearms instruction.
Rick Hogg is a 29-year U.S. Army Special Operations combat veteran, SOF K9 handler, and SFAUC instructor. He doesn't teach theory. He teaches what worked under fire, across two wars, in close quarters and at distance.
Firearms Courses: - Red Dot Pistol (iron sights option available) - Patrol Rifle & Carbine - Night Vision Marksmanship - Low Light Pistol & Carbine
Tactical Training: - Vehicle Tactics & Counter Ambush - Room Clearing / Close Quarters Combat (CQB) - Aerial Gunnery & Marksmanship - Night Vision CQB
K9 Training: - SWAT K9 Integration - One-Handed Pistol Shooting for K9 Officers - Detection & Area Search

The Firearms Training Notebook — Every student receives a copy to track shooting performance, identify improvement areas, and measure progress. This isn't busy work; it's a tool that shows exactly where you stand and where you need to go.
Since inception, War HOGG has trained over 700 law enforcement officers through Project Officer Survival. Four officers have directly attributed their survival in deadly force encounters to this training.
The program eliminates financial barriers by providing: - Free red dot pistol firearms training - Industry partner support (Aimpoint, Safariland, Walther, Propper) - High-pressure marksmanship instruction - Firearms performance-on-demand methodology
"That stuff you taught me saved my life." — SFAUC Student, returned from Afghanistan
War HOGG doesn't throw everything at you at once. They use a building block approach: 1. Master fundamentals first 2. Layer in complexity under stress 3. Measure results with The Firearms Training Notebook 4. Build a personalized training plan
Courses cater to all experience levels—beginner to seasoned shooters—with options for red dot optics or iron sights depending on your setup.
Hosted by Rick Hogg and combat veteran Mark Kelley (Kelley Defense), the weekly podcast covers firearms training, law enforcement tactics, concealed carry, and real-world performance under stress. Episodes feature guests like Mike Pennington (Storm Dog Tactical), K9 handlers, special operations veterans, and industry gear experts.
Topics include dry-fire routines, holster setup, red-dot pistol work, low-light considerations, mindset and resilience, and no-hype gear reviews.
