Minnesota Gun Class - Moorhead teaches the Minnesota Permit to Carry course, the legal requirement for concealed carry in Minnesota and 33 other states nationwide. The course qualifies you for both a Minnesota permit (valid 5 years) and a Florida concealed weapon license (valid 7 years).
This isn't a feel-good firearms class. You walk out knowing:
The class splits into two parts back-to-back:
1. Classroom session - handgun safety, operation, legal concepts, and responsible carry ethics 2. Range qualification - live-fire practice under instructor supervision at an indoor range
"This is not a comprehensive handgun skills tutorial. We assess your ability to safely fire a handgun. If you're unfamiliar with your gun, rent one of theirs for $10 (ammunition included)."
You can only fail by violating safety rules. Safety isn't optional—it's the foundation of everything taught.
Just your driver's license or state-issued ID. No prior shooting experience required.
After completion, you apply for your permit at your local sheriff's office (bring certificate, application form, and $100 cash).
Your Minnesota permit is recognized in 33 states. The USCCA reciprocity map shows which states honor it and any restrictions. Minnesota permits are valid 5 years—you'll need to retake the class and reapply to renew.
The FAQ is blunt about carrying: "When you carry a concealed handgun, you take on an extra burden and a significant responsibility to yourself, your family and your community. You carry the means to protect life and deal out death. You will be held to a higher standard of conduct."
If you can't commit to that—adapting your lifestyle, pursuing ongoing training, understanding the legal and moral weight—don't carry.
Over 50,000 Minnesotans have taken their courses. Check the statewide website for additional class locations across Minnesota.
