Members must follow the four primary gun safety rules. Paper targets only on pistol and rifle ranges—no glass bottles, steel targets, or exploding targets. All targets must be set north of the drainage ditch to prevent ricochets hitting trap houses. Members are expected to police themselves and help keep the ranges clean.
The club needs volunteers to help maintain the pistol and rifle ranges. Hog panels are used for hanging targets—durable and easy to replace.
Mapleton welcomes beginners to trap shooting. Club members will provide instruction with no pressure—just a focus on safe firearms handling. League shooting runs all year except during extreme weather (ice, heavy snow, or severe cold).
