Full description and what we offer
Thunder Valley Precision sits on rolling hills in Southeastern Ohio with one mission: help shooters stretch their rifles and skills to the limit. The facility spans over 200 acres and features a 20-concrete-pad pavilion with steel targets from 100 yards to beyond a mile.
- •Pavilion shooting line – 20 concrete platforms with steel targets
- •100-yard sight-in area – paper targets (shooters supply their own)
- •Shotgun/handgun/carbine arena – all steel targets
- •30+ acres of stalk-and-walk – 20 Rinehart IBO 3D targets for archery ($20 per archer)
- •Multiple engagement positions – dozens of shooting spots around the property
Range access is $30 per shooter on open range days. You don't need to be a member to shoot—just show up on an open day.
Thunder Valley hosts:
- •Weekly club-level competitions throughout the season
- •Sanctioned Benchrest, PRS series, and Sniper tournaments
- •Year-round training classes in Precision Reloading, Rifle Tuning, Data Acquisition, and Long-Range Rifle Skills
- •Private group and individual training available
Owner-operator Tom Sarver is a world record-holder in IBS 1000-yard light rifle competition and a world-class gunsmith. TVP builds custom state-of-the-art shooting systems equipped with the latest optics and accessories. They're also a Banks Outdoors dealer and Global Benchrest Association facility.
- •Safety first. Bolts must be open and chamber flags in before rifles leave vehicles or the firing line. AR shooters are required to use brass catchers. No steel core, tracers, green tips, or .50 BMG on open range days (though a new .50 caliber club is forming—email to join).
Check the schedule daily before visiting—it's updated regularly and subject to weather and conditions. Open range hours are typically 11 AM–3 PM on scheduled days.
Private events and group training can be arranged. Contact Kristene at [email protected] or 740-502-6530.
