Lancaster Pistol & Rifle Club & Jr Div

Lancaster Pistol & Rifle Club operates separate pistol and rifle ranges with different shooting positions and distance options. The Pistol Range includes 25-yard, 50-yard, and 50-foot positions with steel target frames and wooden target stands. The Rifle Range features a 50-yard rimfire bunker, 100-yard steel plate bunker, 50-yard dirt bunker, and 100-yard paper target backer with benchrest positions.

Prospective members follow a clear vetting process before being approved:

• •Attend three monthly member meetings (held second Monday of each month at 7pm at Liberty Union VFW Post #3761, 2155 Reynoldsburg Baltimore Rd NW, Baltimore, OH)
• •Complete a mandatory safety orientation and range tour
• •Pass a background check (CHL, FFL, or state/federal equivalent)
• •Membership in an approved 2nd Amendment organization: National Rifle Association, Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association, or Buckeye Firearms Association
• •Pay one-time and annual membership dues
• •Contribute specified volunteer hours (with some exceptions)

Spouses can also apply for membership through a separate spousal application.

The club hosts multiple match types throughout the year:

• •Bullseye Matches – Precision pistol competition
• •22 Rimfire Rifle League (2025) – Rimfire-specific competition
• •American Rimfire Matches (ARA) – ARA benchrest format
• •1800 Matches – Standard 1800-point bullseye format
• •Weekly Bullseye League – Regular season competition

Historical match archives available dating back to 2017, with organized results for every year through 2025.

• •All shooting requires:
• •Protective eyewear (mandatory)
• •Hearing protection (mandatory)
• •Red safety light activated during shooting

• •Cartridge Restrictions (enforced by range section):
• •Pistol 25/50-yard and 50-foot ranges: Straight-walled pistol cartridges limited to ODNR deer hunting specifications or smaller. Necked cartridges prohibited on 50-foot range. No shotgun slugs.
• •Rifle 50-yard Rimfire Bunker: Rimfire only (non-magnum)
• •Rifle 100-yard Steel Plate Bunker: Any cartridge rated for the plates (excludes .50 BMG, .338 Lapua Magnum, similar excessive-damage rounds)
• •Rifle 50-yard and 100-yard ranges: Any cartridge except .50 BMG, .338 Lapua Magnum, and similar

• •Prohibited Activities:
• •Reactive, explosive, and binary targets (Tannerite)
• •Drawing from holster
• •Tracer and incendiary rounds
• •Rocks, cans, bottles, and boxes as targets

• •Designated Firing Positions:
• •Rifle House: Interior only, concrete pad behind yellow safety line (red line for prone)
• •Pistol House: Interior only, shooting from provided windows

All impacts must be in the earthen berm or designated impact area. Members are responsible for cleanup and returning target frames at range completion.

The club operates a Junior League program with dedicated instruction and competition opportunities for younger shooters. Annual club events include work parties, training sessions, and a community picnic.
