ASA Oklahoma

ASA Oklahoma sanctions archery competitions across the state, organizing qualifier events and the state championship for hunters, competitive shooters, and archers of all skill levels.

The organization recognizes multiple shooting classes with specific equipment rules:

• •Traditional Class – Recurve or longbow only, max 25 yards, 280 FPS speed limit. No sights, releases, or magnification. Single stabilizer up to 12" maximum. Shoot off the shelf or elevated rest.

• •Fixed Pins Classes – Available for both adults and youth/kids. Single rear stabilizer up to 12" allowed. Front stabilizers limited to 12" total length.

• •Hunter Classes – Moveable sights without lock-down requirement. No magnification permitted (clarifiers in peep sights are allowed). Stabilizer systems up to 12" front and 12" rear maximum.

• •Youth & Young Adult Divisions – Age-based classes as of January 1st:
• •Young Adult: 15-17
• •Youth: 12-14
• •Eagle: 9-11
• •Jr. Eagle: 6-8

All Oklahoma ASA shooters must complete their scoring round in one day.

Key Competition Standards: - Shooters allowed two let-downs; a third results in zero score for that target - One breakdown per round, maximum 90 minutes (return to practice bags for repairs) - Immediate disqualification for receiving coaching during the round - Each target features two 12-rings; shooters may elect to shoot the upper ring by announcement - Arrow speed checked via chronograph at all qualifier events, Western Region Shootout, and State Tournament - Speed limits enforced with 3% margin of error

• •Reshoot Policy: Arrows that contact outside agencies (animals, falling debris) during flight may be reshot. Fixed impediments like standing trees and attached branches don't qualify.

ASA Pros shoot qualifiers for $20 practice entry. Pros from any state may compete at state championship ($40 entry) without qualifying. Pro class buckles awarded at Oklahoma state championship.

• •Scoring Groups – Assigned randomly or peer-grouped at individual club/director discretion. All shoots awarding buckles use peer grouping.
