Full description and what we offer
TALO Distributors started in 1965 as America's first wholesale buying cooperative in the sporting goods industry. Eight member distributors—Camfour, Davidson's, Gunarama, Iron Valley Supply, Lipsey's, RSR, V.F. Grace, and Zanders—supply local firearms dealers with TALO's exclusive products.
TALO doesn't sell directly to consumers. Instead, they commission limited edition and custom designed firearms from top manufacturers, then distribute those products to stocking sporting goods dealers across the United States. Interested collectors contact their local firearm dealer and ask them to order special editions from a TALO distributor.
How it works: A customer wants a specific TALO exclusive → Customer's local dealer contacts their TALO wholesaler → The dealer orders the product → Customer gets it through their local shop.
TALO works with major manufacturers including:
TALO's first custom projects in the early years included private label Savage rifles and Mossberg pump shotguns. Beginning in 1997, they started embellishing Colt 1911s and Walther PPKs. The real turning point came in 2006 with the Ruger John Wayne Vaquero—3,500 units that became an American Rifleman Editor's Pick and launched TALO's reputation as a collector favorite.
Since then, TALO has released hundreds of limited editions:
TALO projects have raised over $1 million for nonprofits including:
A director manages day-to-day operations—creating special editions, getting them into production, and getting them into dealers' hands. A board of directors from the member distributor companies provides oversight. The organization brings together decades of industry experience in both the business and creative sides of firearms.
Recent news includes the Ruger TALO 9mm SR1911 CCO review from Shooting Illustrated and rangehot.com, the Glock G45 MOS with factory-installed Aimpoint Acro P-2 optic, introduction of the Glock 25 and Glock 28 to the US market, Sturm Ruger's asset purchase of Anderson Manufacturing, and ongoing Colt Python, Anaconda, and King Cobra variants.
How to Buy TALO Firearms: You can't order directly from TALO. Find your local firearms dealer, ask them to order a TALO special edition from their distributor, and get it through normal FFL transfer procedures.
