Full description and what we offer
The Eugene Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America runs four different competitive shooting matches throughout the month at their private range facility. This is a member-operated club that supports the national IWLA's conservation mission while providing structured competition opportunities for practical shooting sports.
Held in the pistol bays, Steel Challenge runs from morning through early afternoon with five stages and a 125-round minimum. This isn't a static stand-and-shoot format—expect poppers, moving positions, and surprise challenges to test your technique. You can shoot rimfire or centerfire handguns, or PCCs (pistol caliber carbines).
USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) matches run on the Sunday before the second Saturday of each month. USPSA tests speed, accuracy, and power equally through dynamic courses of fire across five stages. Expect 110-120 rounds total (maximum 160).
The rifle range hosts Practical Rifle matches on the second Saturday with four to six stages featuring multiple shooting positions and movement. These matches stick to non-magnum calibers with ammo not exceeding 3200 FPS.
These are official International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) matches held on the third Saturday. The sport simulates self-defense scenarios with real-world movement and shooting from cover. Five stages with a 90-round maximum. Qualifiers count toward IDPA membership rankings, and you can compete with your duty or CCW equipment competitively.
The International Defensive Pistol Association, founded in 1996, now has over 23,000 members across 75 countries worldwide.
