Most gun shops push what they have in stock. FST lets you try a dozen options and pick based on how it feels in YOUR hand, not what's on sale.
Barrel length changes everything. Compare a 2-inch revolver to a 5-inch pistol, and you'll understand why. Micro vs. compact vs. full frame—that matters. So does caliber recoil. Their approach: shoot them all first.
Portland-based, LGBTQIA+ and allies welcome. Run by Anth, who also provides: - Weekly online class schedule - Gift cards - Stop the Bleed instruction - Oregon-specific legal guidance (CCW, use of force laws, NFA trusts)
FST maintains detailed guides on Oregon ranges and clubs, including: - Johnson Creek Gun Club, The Place to Shoot (Portland area) - Douglas Ridge Rifle Club, Tri-County Gun Club - Threat Dynamics (Sherwood) - Salem, Bend, Eugene, and coastal options
They also publish comprehensive caliber data (40+ cartridges), firearm maintenance guides, and Oregon-specific firearm law analysis.
