Wallowa Rod and Gun Club

Wallowa Rod and Gun Club sits just outside the town of Wallowa in Wallowa County, Oregon. It is the base for the Wallowa High School Trap Shooting Team, the only program of its kind in the county and one of a limited number of school trap programs in the state; team members hone marksmanship on the club's trap range in preparation for state and national competition.

Trap shooting at the club centers on calling for and breaking clay pigeons, with coaches routinely reinforcing safe handling: keeping fingers off the trigger guard on automatic actions, maintaining muzzle discipline on the firing line, and unloading and pointing weapons down range whenever a cease-fire is called. Beyond trap, the club also supports rifle, pistol, shotgun, skeet, and archery shooting.
