Full description and what we offer
Daisytown Sportsmen's Club has been serving the Johnstown area since 1955, built on a founding principle that still guides the club today: foster good sportsmanship and community among shooters interested in field sports.
The club maintains serious shooting infrastructure:
| Type | Schedule |
|---|---|
| Winter Trap League | Nov–Mar, Sundays at noon |
| Indoor Pistol League | Jan–Mar, Thursdays |
| Outdoor Rimfire Benchrest | Mondays, 11:00 AM |
| M1 Garand | Seasonal competitions |
| Youth Trap League | Seasonal, Saturdays |
| Outdoor Silhouette | Scheduled shoots |
Special events include the Polar Bear Shoot (February), GSSF Glock Competition (June), Appleseed Project, Running Deer Shoot, and Tannerite Shoot.
The club hosts regular instruction through multiple organizations:
Safety First: All alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on club property to ensure member safety and promote a responsible shooting environment.
Membership meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM—new member applications are accepted at these meetings. Members get gate card access to the facility.
Clubhouse Hours: - Sunday: 12 Noon (TBD closing) - Tuesday: 5:30 PM (TBD closing) - Thursday: 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
The club is in the middle of a multi-year improvement project. Recent additions include new trap field lights, a metal target range, and rifle range shelter re-roofing. Upcoming work includes replacing an old garage, improving signage, and renovating the "mine-belt" range. Many members are skilled tradespeople who volunteer to keep the facility in top shape.
"Our goal for 2025 is to sustain high quality programs while maintaining and upgrading ranges and infrastructure."
