Keystone Fish & Game Association operates as a non-profit membership organization dedicated to protecting the environment, improving fisheries and wildlife habitat, and educating the community about outdoor heritage and scientific wildlife management. Located at 871 Fir Road in Shamokin, the club provides facilities and events for shooters and archers of all skill levels.
Members shoot during daylight hours on:
- •Rifle range: Covered outdoor 300-yard range
- •Pistol range: Covered outdoor 25 and 50-yard range
- •3D archery: Outdoor walk-through 22-target course (May-September, $7 members/$9 non-members)
- •Archery sight-in: Outdoor bale range
- •Fish pond: For youth members 15 and under (adult-supervised)
- •Sniper Shoots - Fourth Sunday of each month (except November), year-round. The walking course features 12 steel plate targets at ranges from 30 to 300 yards with varying angles and shooting positions. Eight rifle classes accommodate military/military-clone rifles and sporterized military rifles in both scoped and iron sight categories. Entry: $5. Signups 9:00am-10:00am in clubhouse. - •Rimfire 200-Yard Shoot - 2nd Sunday, April-October. Bench shooting with .22 LR rifles. 10-minute sight-in period followed by 15 minutes to fire 15 rounds for score. Entry: $5. Open to non-members. Contact: Dennis Chapin, 570-204-4037
- •Rimfire Silhouette Shoot - 3rd Sunday, April-October. Four 10-shot positions at 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards shooting chicken, pig, turkey, and ram silhouettes from standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone positions. Entry: $5. Open to non-members. Contact: Rob Kline, 570-797-1906
- •Indoor Archery League - January through April. 4-person handicapped teams, 8-week format. Practice Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm, Sundays at 1pm. - •3D Archery Course - Open daily May-September. 22-target course with pricing: $7 members, $9 non-members, $3 ages 12-15, free under 12. Youth 15 and under must be accompanied by adult 21+. Broadheads and crossbows not permitted. 3D league runs 16 weeks; shooters must score 10 of 16 weeks.
Paid Event Access - During scheduled events, the association offers a sniper course, 50-foot indoor rimfire range, 20-yard indoor archery range, and outdoor trap range.
The association hosts annual events including the Keystone Gun Bingo, Sportsman's Swap Meet, and Women on Target courses (2025 course: June 21). Volunteers are actively needed and appreciated for maintenance, improvements, and event staffing.
Range safety is the club's priority. Key rules:
- •Shooting hours: Sunrise to sunset (outdoor ranges)
- •No alcohol on or within 25 feet of ranges
- •Children under 16 must be closely supervised
- •Firearms actions open in clubhouse, except on firing line
- •No littering; ranges must be cleaned after use
- •Trap range requires unloaded shotguns with open actions when moving to/from firing line
