Northwest Airguns is run by Jonathan Brooks, an airgun mechanic and machinist with decades of hands-on experience repairing, restoring, and modifying pellet and BB guns. Brooks attended the Lassen College Summer NRA Gunsmithing program under master airgunsmith Randy Bimrose, plus additional general gunsmithing classes.
Brooks started Northwest Airguns because he experienced the same frustration many airgunners face: trying to work on equipment without coherent, reliable repair information. His mission is straightforward—help people maintain and rebuild their own airguns safely, or connect them with qualified repair work.
Contact via email: [email protected] or use the contact form on their website. Response time varies based on workload.
Brooks maintains an active YouTube channel covering:
The YouTube channel is the primary content hub now; the blog has been consolidated to reduce duplication.
"Airguns provide a great outlet for those of us who enjoy the kinder, gentler side of the shooting sports."
Brooks brings a personal connection to his work—he grew up with Benjamin pump rifles, riding his bike with the gun across the handlebars, searching for bottles to fund more pellets. This informs his drive to keep classic airguns out of the dump and in working condition.
Northwest Airguns maintains a trusted list of other qualified airgun repair specialists for models they don't handle:
| Shop | Specialist | Location | Specialty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mac1 Airgun Shop | Tim McMurray | Signal Hill, CA | Sheridan/Benjamin rebuilds, US Field Target competition rifles |
| Precision Pellet | Rick Willnecker | New Park, PA | Most vintage makes, hard-to-find parts |
| Baker Airguns | Dennis Baker | Mt. Victory, OH | Full repair services, parts inventory |
| Peter Built | Mike Baker | Cornville, AZ | Experienced airgunsmith, extensive parts |
Brooks emphasizes that proper tools often make the difference between successful repair and endless frustration. He covers tools alongside airguns—overlooked but essential for anyone working on their own equipment. Custom valve tools and specialized disassembly tools are featured in his video content with detailed dimension drawings.
