Gary's Gun Shop has been serving South Dakota shooters since 1982. What started as Gary's original vision has evolved into one of the region's most comprehensive firearms destinations. Steve Naatjes purchased the business in 2003 and has grown it into a 4,000 square foot retail operation with over 20 employees plus a dedicated gunsmith.

You'll find everything from classic rifles and shotguns to the latest handguns and precision rifles. Gary's carries all major brands plus smaller, high-end manufacturers. Their inventory spans:

Eye and ear protection, targets, and ammunition all available on-site.

Their full-time gunsmith handles everything from routine maintenance to custom work. Shop rate is $80/hour with a $40 minimum.

Stock Work: - Glass bed action — $185 - Free float barrel — $75 - Pillar bedding — $250 (plus pillars) - Recoil pad installation — $90 (plus pad) - Sling stud installation — $45 (plus parts)

Rifle Services: - Bore sight scope — $10 - Scope mount & bore sight — $40 - Drill & tap per hole — $35 - Trigger adjustment (factory) — $70 - Trigger adjustment (non-factory) — $95+ - Cut & crown barrel — $100 - Muzzle brake installation — $165 (plus brake) - Barrel threading — $140 - Pro rifle sight-in — $120 (plus ammo cost)

Shotgun Work: - Open fixed choke — $90 - Install mid-bead — $40 (plus bead) - Barrel porting — $110 per barrel

Full Cleaning Services:

They don't do rebluing or restoration work, but they handle machine work including barrel threading and part fabrication. Firearms can be sent to the factory for non-warranty work.

Gary's accepts gun trades and purchases. Submit details through their website or call to discuss value. They stock over 50,000 items online, making it easy to find niche ammunition, reloading supplies, and hard-to-find parts.

Used firearms purchased from Gary's carry a 30-day warranty with free repairs if issues arise. All other returns must include receipt within 30 days in original packaging — but all firearm sales are final. No returns on ammunition, powder, or primers for insurance/safety reasons.
