Full description and what we offer
Dunn's Customs handles two main services: Cerakote finishing and laser engraving. Sean Dunn, the owner and master engraver, is self-taught but obsessive about detail work. Erin (Dunn) Slater brings artistic training and a focus on intricate custom designs—she handles everything from hand-painted details to stenciled camo patterns.
Both are laser-focused on bringing your vision to life, not pushing standard options.
Cerakote is a polymer-ceramic compound that bonds to wood, polymers, metals, and plastics. It improves wear resistance and gives your firearm lasting protection while looking exactly how you want it.
Pricing varies by platform:
| Platform | Single Color | Two Colors | Three Colors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handgun (complete) | $160 | $210 | $270 |
| AR-15 (complete) | $200 | $240 | $300 |
| Bolt-action rifle (complete) | $200 | $235 | $270 |
| Shotgun (complete) | $225 | $255 | $285 |
They also handle uppers, lowers, slides, receivers, stocks, handguards, magazines, optics, and accessories. Camo patterns add 50% to the cost. Additional services include stenciling ($20/hour), distressing, and clear coats in gloss or matte.
Disassembly and reassembly adds a $50 fee. Items needing cleaning prior to coating start at $15 additional.
Laser engraving handles:
Sean holds an FFL license, so he's fully equipped to handle your firearm customization needs legally. Both owners appreciate the creativity customers bring—they thrive on tackling designs that haven't been done before.
