Lone Star Defense & Arms charges $15 per firearm for FFL transfers—the lowest rate in the Houston area. That's the flat fee, no hidden charges. The process is straightforward:

1. Submit your details via email ([email protected]) or fax (713-465-1821) with: firearm description, order/invoice/auction numbers, seller contact info, and your full name and phone number.

2. Lone Star contacts the seller on your behalf and provides their FFL information.

3. Wait for arrival without calling to check status. They'll contact you by the next business day when it's ready.

4. Verify and log Once the firearm arrives, they verify the serial number matches the seller's paperwork and log it into their ATF Firearms Log per federal regulations.

5. Pick up and complete background check Come in anytime between 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. No appointment needed. You pay the $15 fee when you submit the background check via ATF Form 4473.

6. Take legal possession Once approved (usually instant to 15 minutes), your firearm is legally transferred to you.

NFA transfers require ATF Form 4 instead of Form 4473, federal registration, fingerprints, and photographs. Lone Star offers in-house fingerprinting and electronic E-File filing, which can reduce wait times from months down to weeks or even days (traditional Form 4 processing takes 4-9 months or longer).
