Full description and what we offer
EVGUN started from a simple idea: create a fun place for people who care about firearms, training, and self-defense. Founded by two gun enthusiasts with decades of practical shooting and teaching experience, the operation sits at 12777 Jones Rd. Suite 102 in Houston, Texas 77070.
EVGUN was voted "The Best Place To Take Your Texas License To Carry Class" and they handle it differently than most places. Here's what sets them apart:
- •NRA-certified instructors with practical teaching experience
- •Private classes in your home (minimum 5 people) or their Houston classroom
- •Range time included in the class
- •Discounts available: $10 off for Vets and First Responders; $10 off for groups of 10+
- •Female-specific classes - more options for women than any other provider in the area
"I found EVGUN doing a Google search on how to get my conceal carry license in Houston. The class was fun. Mark was a really good instructor. He is funny and the day just flew by." - Sonya S.
Eligibility is straightforward: you must be 21 years or older (unless active duty military) and meet federal qualifications to purchase a handgun. After class completion, you'll arrange fingerprints separately ($10, widely available in Houston) and submit your application packet to the state.
EVGUN maintains both an in-store inventory and a full online shop stocked with:
- •Rifles (multiple brands and calibers)
- •Handguns (all major manufacturers)
- •Silencers (AKLYS Defense models including Kopis, Pilum, Hawker, Atlas, and Sabre lines)
- •AR-15 rifle stands and display stands
- •Accessories (thousands of options)
- •Ammunition (thousands of brands and calibers)
Sign up for the "EVGUN ARMY" - a private group that gets early notifications of hard-to-find items and special offers with pricing under MAP in most cases.
Beyond their signature Texas License to Carry class, EVGUN offers:
- •Basic Pistol Instruction Classes taught by NRA-certified instructors
- •Private handgun safety and shooting classes for skill development
- •Custom scheduling - if you can't find a class time that works, call them at (855) 443-1655 and they'll build a schedule around you
EVGUN handles transfers for firearms purchased online or elsewhere, making them convenient for customers buying from other retailers.
Looking for a gift for the shooter in your life? EVGUN sells gift cards that work toward classes, firearms, ammunition, or accessories.
Testimonials highlight a few consistent themes:
- •Instructors actually know what they're teaching - not reading from a script
- •Range time is hands-on and comfortable - even for nervous first-time shooters
- •Professional but fun atmosphere - students remember the experience positively
- •Real-world scenarios included - understanding when and how self-defense justifies handgun use
- •Women shooting better than men is "pretty typical" - they actively encourage female participation
- •Address: 12777 Jones Rd. Suite 102, Houston, TX 77070

EVGUN also promotes legal self-defense through partnerships like U.S. LawShield, which provides 24/7 attorney access and defense coverage for as little as $10.95/month.
