Hill Country Training Group operates as a veteran and law enforcement-owned training facility in Central Texas, built on real-world experience from decades of military service and street-level law enforcement. The company was founded by Mark Ryan, a former U.S. Army Combat Engineer and Light Infantryman who transitioned to law enforcement in Los Angeles, where he worked gang investigations, high-risk warrant service, and personal protection for two decades before relocating to Texas.
The core curriculum starts with Intro to Handgun ($125) for shooters new to firearms or lacking formal training. Students develop handgun fundamentals, firearms safety, and operational confidence on a private outdoor range. No SERPA or leather holsters allowed—the facility requires quality modern Kydex IWB/AIWB holsters.

The facility offers Texas LTC Class ($85) and Online Texas LTC Class options. Instruction covers Texas concealed carry law, use of force, and legal considerations in self-defense encounters.
