Straight Shooter specializes in training the trainers. Their core offering is NRA Instructor Training—discipline-specific courses that take experienced shooters and teach them how to actually teach others.
If you want to become an NRA Certified Instructor, instructors teach:
Courses are conducted by NRA Training Counselors—active, experienced instructors certified by the NRA specifically to train and evaluate new instructors.
Before you start instructor training, you need:
1. Completion of the basic course in your discipline (pistol, rifle, or shotgun) 2. Solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills 3. Familiarity with different action types in your chosen discipline 4. Pre-course qualification exercises completed and approved
