Full description and what we offer
Lone Star Munitions was a family-owned ammunition manufacturer based in Tuscola, Texas, founded on the principle of providing factory-direct ammo at affordable prices. Every cartridge was manufactured on-site by the Lone Star Munitions team, then shipped directly to customers without middleman markups.
Note: Lone Star Munitions has retired and closed operations. This listing is historical.
Lone Star Munitions loaded four primary calibers:
Lone Star Munitions took pride in how they built their ammunition:
Powders & Primers - Smokeless powders from prime manufacturers: Hodgdon, Winchester, and Accurate - Non-corrosive primers from foreign suppliers (chosen after the 2020 "Great Ammo Crunch" forced domestic suppliers to abandon wholesale markets) - They intentionally avoided Tula and Murom primers due to consistent quality problems
Projectiles - Cold-swaged, full metal jacket (FMJ) projectiles manufactured on-site using state-of-the-art technology - Occasional use of plated and synthetic coat projectiles from SNS Casting and Berry's Manufacturing - Custom hollow points for self-defense were announced as coming soon
Brass & Inspection - Remanufactured brass sourced from indoor ranges across the United States - Each case professionally cleaned, inspected, polished, and processed - Every individual round case gauged, visually inspected, and measured against SAAMI specifications at multiple checkpoints - Testing for velocity and proper performance verification in appropriate modern firearms
Their Commitment: "All ammunition products available to our customers have been extensively tested for velocity and verification of proper performance." Every round was verified safe and suitable before boxing.
Lone Star Munitions was built by Texas natives who valued God, country, and family. Two children served in the United States Air Force, two worked in the medical field, and the youngest were still in school. They operated with the mission: "American Made, American Proud, Lone Star Strong."
The team offered a free Member's Only Library with content on preparedness, self-defense, gun and ammo legislation, and gun terminology.
For customers in the Houston and Southeast Texas area, they arranged pick-up or delivery—call or email to arrange.
Lone Star Munitions proved that serious ammunition manufacturers could control quality by doing everything in-house—from projectile swaging to final inspection. They didn't compromise on components when domestic suppliers abandoned the market; they sourced the best available products and tested everything against SAAMI specs. That's the opposite of the race-to-the-bottom ammunition you find at big-box retailers.
