Valor Defense Academy is a private firearms training facility in North Austin run by instructor Kelsey, who specializes in helping new shooters build solid fundamentals without the intimidation factor. Every session is customized to your experience level and goals—whether you're picking up a gun for the first time or you're security personnel looking to maintain defensive skills.
Unlike traditional indoor ranges, Valor uses a completely virtual range setup. This means:
- •No hearing damage from live fire noise
- •100% safe, controlled environment
- •Guns feel and behave like real firearms (not simulation toys)
- •Large screens put you in realistic scenarios
- •Training costs way less than ammunition-based practice
You get the real experience without the hazards or the ammo bill.

Valor offers online LTC education (4 hours, self-paced on any device) plus the required shooting qualification at their facility:
- •Official Texas LTC Course: Required for concealed carry permits. Take at your own pace, 24/7, save progress and resume anytime.
- •LTC Refresher Course: For current license holders. Covers new Texas laws and expanded carry rights from recent legislation.
- •Constitutional Carry Course: Covers everything you need to know about carrying in Texas without a license, including all restrictions and regulations.
One of the big selling points: you don't need to own or rent anything. The class cost covers everything:
- •Firearms and gun rentals
- •Ammunition (one box per person)
- •Targets
- •Eye and ear protection
- •Range fees
- •Instruction
The only exception is the LTC Shooting Qualification ($90 test only)—you cover the $20 range fee and ammo separately for that one.
