Driftwood LTC Training operates a private shooting range on Lone Man Mountain Road in Driftwood, Texas (use Wimberley as your GPS destination). This is Mike Cox's operation—a TxDPS Certified License to Carry Instructor who's also NRA Certified in Home Firearms Safety, Basic Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, and Range Safety Officer.

• •No range fees at the private DriftwoodLTC Range
• •Hearing, hat, and eye protection provided
• •Any caliber or category of handgun accepted for shooting portion
• •$25 discount on instructor-led courses if you complete a Basic Handgun Class first
• •Certificate valid for 24 months to apply for your Texas LTC

The classroom portion can be taken online OR held at multiple locations:

• •Cabela's Conference Room: Cabela's Outlet Store in Buda, TX
• •Private Ranch: Wimberley area location
• •Private classes (minimum 4 students): Your venue, office, or home

All shooting proficiency work happens at the private DriftwoodLTC Range near Wimberley—no public range fees, not open to the public.

Two paths to get your training certificate:

1. Online + Proficiency (most popular) - Complete classroom training online at your pace - Schedule and complete handgun proficiency at the range - Receive signed LTC-101 form

2. Traditional Instructor-Led (one day) - Classroom instruction + range work in a single day - Start 9:00 am, finish around 4:00 pm - Receive signed LTC-100 form

Certificate valid 24 months. You must be at least 18 years old. Fingerprints required (one-time $10 fee). If you have a Texas driver's license, no additional photos needed. Renewals can be done completely online at DPS website.

• •Group Classes: Book a private class for friends, family, or coworkers (minimum 4 students). Morning start at 9:00 am lets you finish by afternoon for day trips to nearby attractions—local wineries (one next door to training site), breweries, Salt Lick BBQ, or Wimberley shopping.

• •Basic Handgun Training: Personalized one-on-one scheduling for new owners or rusty shooters. Learn fundamentals, shooting mechanics, carry methods, and cleaning. Flexible weekday availability. Completion qualifies for LTC-101 or LTC-100 requirements AND includes $25 discount on follow-up instructor-led LTC class.

• •Tune-Up Classes: Law changes every two years in Texas. Refresher courses cover the latest legislative updates at $20 online.
