Temple Gun Club

Temple Gun Club operates as a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to competitive shooting sports and range safety. Located at 3924 FM 438 Loop Rd, Temple, TX 76501, the range opens at 8am and stays open until sundown daily for members.

The facility includes: - 300 and 500-yard rifle lines with qualification requirement - 100 and 200-yard covered rifle line - 8 tactical bays for pistol, rifle, and shotgun - Two covered pistol pavilions

Temple Gun Club hosts multiple shooting competitions every month across multiple disciplines:

All match information and registration is handled through PractiScore at https://practiscore.com/clubs/temple-gun-club/calendar. Registration is required—matches need a minimum number of participants.

To join: 1. Attend a monthly meeting (first Monday of each month, 5:45-6:00pm applications accepted) 2. Complete mandatory Range and Safety Orientation (6:00-7:00pm) 3. Be 18+ and legally able to own firearms 4. $150 annual membership ($50 admin fee first year = $200 total for new members) 5. Cash or check required for first payment

Membership provides 365-day range access.

Shooters wanting to use the long-distance lines must qualify with a Board Member. The process involves:

• •Verbal ballistics discussion (trajectory, ballistic coefficients, velocity effects)
• •Zero confirmation at 100 yards
• •Hit IPSC silhouette 3 of 10 times at 200 yards
• •Hit IPSC silhouette 3 of 10 times at 300 yards
• •Hit IPSC silhouette 3 of 10 times at 500 yards
• •No wild shots or accidental discharges (failure requires re-qualification)

SIG Sauer P320 Alert: As of Aug 5, 2025, SIG Sauer P320 handguns and variants (M17, M18) are prohibited from all Temple Gun Club ranges, including competitions and training.

Tactical Bay Usage: - No vehicles inside bays - No shooting from inside shelters - Shotgun patterning ONLY in tactical bays - Police brass and targets when finished - 180-degree firing fan authorized (arrange targets toward berms)

Rifle Line Etiquette: - First come, first served (except scheduled events) - Only one firing line in use per time period - Use red flags at 200/300/500-yard poles to indicate active firing - Place barricades to prevent access to occupied lines - Shooters must check for target placement downrange before firing - Close the road at your firing line position using provided barricades

General Conduct: - Police brass and target materials when finished - No pistol caliber carbines from 300/500-yard lines - Targets placed on backer boards at frames 7 and 9 only (not on 4x4 uprights) - Respect time limits—don't occupy firing lines indefinitely
