Beehive-Wasatch Bowhunters started in the early 1950s when two separate archery groups in the Salt Lake Valley—the Wasatch Bowhunters and Beehive Archers—decided to merge on August 8, 1957. What began as a small group of enthusiasts has grown into one of the largest archery clubs in Utah with over 200 active members.
The club incorporated as a non-profit organization under Utah law in 1962 and is governed by a Constitution and bylaws filed with the Secretary of State. Officers include a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, with a board of eleven or more directors handling club affairs.
The club owns 27 acres of land near the head of Parley's Canyon (Lamb's Canyon Frontage Road, Park City, UT 84098). The property includes:
Access is keyed and private—members receive keys to the facility for year-round access.
Two membership types are available:
Associate Membership – $200/year - Full access to all ranges and club functions - 10 work hours required annually (reimbursed at $10/hour) - $20 annual range fee minimum - 20 raffle tickets issued for the Treasure Mountain Shoot - No property ownership stake
Lifetime Membership - Full access to all ranges and club functions - Own a share of club property - Same work hour and fee requirements as Associate members
Guest shooting privileges are available: first visit free, then $5 per additional visit per guest (limit 2 shooting guests per event). Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

The 61st Annual Treasure Mountain Shoot runs July 31 – August 3, 2025:
Members affiliate with: - Utah Bowmen's Association - National Field Archery Association (NFAA) - Utah Federation of Wildlife (UWF) - Utah Big Game Board
The club's core mission remains unchanged since 1957: - Foster fellowship among archers and sportsmen - Promote bowhunting and target archery at all legal game - Support state and federal wildlife conservation programs - Uphold fish and game regulations - Advance target archery at all skill levels - Improve the public image of bowhunters and hunting

The club enforces strict guidelines:
Substance & Safety - Zero tolerance: minors with controlled substances, alcohol, or beer on premises will be expelled - Anyone providing these to minors faces board discretion penalties
Property & Access - Members must maintain assigned outdoor range targets to Range Captain standards by June 1st - Key duplication requires Board approval; unauthorized duplication results in suspension - New keys cost $5 or require turning in old keys - No dogs, horses, or pets allowed (watershed area) - No small game hunting except for control purposes - Hunting restricted 300 feet from patio area; must comply with Salt Lake County laws
Vehicles & Camping - Motorized vehicles (including motorcycles and ATVs) restricted to graded roads and parking - Off-highway vehicle use enforces state laws - Trailer parking available first-come, first-serve (10 days free, weekend parking west of Running Deer pull station) - Trailers must be self-contained; no dumping of fresh, gray, or black water - Non-member overnight camping by board vote only
Patio & Events - Members allowed 8 adult guests for patio functions - Private patio rental: $35 (Wed evenings) or $65 (Sat evenings) – must arrange with Treasurer - Members must clean up trash; no garbage pickup at range - When bringing guests, don't monopolize tables or facilities
Penalties - Littering results in suspension - Game violations: member must pay 50% of fine to club - Info leading to game violator arrest: member receives 50% of reward (max $50)
A monthly newsletter is sent to all members. New members are encouraged and welcome—contact the club to request membership or learn more about joining Utah's oldest archery organization.
Work hours are a core part of membership. Both Associate and Lifetime members contribute 10 hours annually (5 hours ideally by June 15th for spring cleanup, all hours by August 31st). Hours must be reported in writing, dated, and signed within 10 days of completion.
