Heritage Defense Group is a veteran-owned firearms training company operating in Park City, Utah. The operation is led by Mike Zarkos, a former Naval Special Warfare (NSW) operator with real combat deployments in Operation Enduring Freedom—Horn of Africa and Operation Enduring Freedom—Trans Sahara. After leaving military service, Mike worked private security specializing in workplace violence prevention, asset protection, and executive protection before transitioning to civilian firearms instruction in 2019.

Heritage Defense Group offers several core training programs:

• •Pistol Training — Covers safe handling, accurate shooting fundamentals, rapid fire techniques, and situational awareness. Courses range from Women's Pistol Course 101 (evenings, $200) to advanced tactical scenarios. All pistol courses emphasize practical exercises that simulate real-life defensive situations.

• •Rifle Courses — Comprehensive rifle handling instruction from basic safety and maintenance through precision shooting and rapid engagement strategies. Training includes multiple shooting positions and environments to build accuracy, speed, and adaptability.

• •Vehicle Defense Tactics — Specialized instruction on defending yourself and others while inside a vehicle. This covers shooting from vehicles, vehicle positioning for safety, and rapid exit strategies, with threat identification practice across various scenarios.

• •Individual Firearms Training — One-on-one personalized instruction available in 4-hour indoor or outdoor sessions. All skill levels accommodated, from complete beginners to advanced shooters.

• •Company Outings — Corporate team-building experiences combining firearms training with group bonding activities. These sessions emphasize teamwork, communication, and safety awareness.

Heritage Defense Group offers two no-cost training programs: - Free pistol and rifle qualification training for individuals entering military service (proof of enlistment required) - Free concealed firearm permit training for Utah K-12 teachers and administrators (only $50 state processing fee; requires 3+ participants) :::
