Viking 6 Tactical is a veteran-owned firearms training company built on real combat and law enforcement experience. Founded and led by George Rodriguez—a retired Vermont State Trooper with 22 years in law enforcement and 21 years in the U.S. Military—the company brings decades of field experience to every class.
George served as a Light Infantry Company Commander in Iraq, Division Liaison for the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, and Operations Officer in Lethal Targeting in Afghanistan. His LE background includes canine handling, Drug Task Force work, and instruction on hazardous materials and clandestine lab entry. At the Army Mountain Warfare School in Vermont, he taught infantry and firearms courses. That same depth of instruction carries into every Viking 6 class.
The instructor roster includes:
- •George Rodriguez (Owner/Lead Instructor): RSO, CCW, home defense, emergency first aid, countering mass shooters, women's handgun and self-defense, children's firearm safety
- •Jim Bluhm: Navy veteran (M60 door gunner, UH-1 Huey helicopters), 30+ years with handguns and long guns, USCCA Certified, NRA member 25 years
- •Mac Broich: 32-year Army veteran, Sergeant Major (E9), Special Forces Medic, deployed to Afghanistan and Kosovo, instructor at Army Mountain Warfare School

These 6-hour courses teach you how to keep control of your firearm during a chaotic, dynamic encounter—not just shoot well, but retain and control your weapon while under stress, moving, and dealing with threats in close quarters.
- •Basic Pistol (Beginner) — 3-hour classroom/drill session plus 3-hour live fire:
- •Grip under stress, compression and retention drills, weapon presentation and re-presentation
- •Close-quarters muzzle awareness, practical retention techniques for contact/grappling scenarios
- •Dry-fire drills to build motor patterns
- •Live fire: fundamentals, dynamic transitions, multiple targets, movement, shooting until threat ends
- •Requires 300 rounds, holster, 3+ magazines, eye/ear protection
- •Advanced Pistol — All-range, high-tempo, physically demanding:
- •Quick refresh of defensive basics, then stress-shooting drills
- •Precision retention under pressure
- •Multiple-target engagement
- •Shooting on the move, repositioning, cover work
- •Timed, high-adrenaline scenarios
- •Requires 300+ rounds, OWB holster, 3+ magazines
- •Basic Rifle (MSR/AR-15) — 3-hour classroom, 3-hour range:
- •Rifle familiarization, assembly/disassembly, cleaning and maintenance
- •Sling manipulation, loading/unloading, ready positions
- •Sighting in, optics setup, precision marksmanship fundamentals
- •Location: The Gun Shop & Gun Range, Leesburg, FL
- •Rifle to Pistol Transition (Advanced) — 6 hours all range:
- •Safe, efficient transitions between platforms under stress
- •Progressive live-fire drills, stress courses
- •Multiple-target arrays, movement, reload drills
- •Requires 200 rifle rounds, 300 pistol rounds, 2-point sling (mandatory), 3+ AR mags, 3+ pistol mags, OWB holster
- •CMMG conversion kit (.22LR) available for reduced ammo costs
CCW Courses: - Beginner CCW: Safety, handling, fundamentals for responsible carry - Basic CCW: Permit renewal/prior experience, skills refresh - Advanced CCW: Higher-speed, higher-precision defensive skills - Each includes free 3-hour Zoom classroom refresher + separate range qualification (indoor or outdoor)
- •Defensive Pistol & Rifle: Core concepts—safe handling, stance, sight picture, trigger control, practical drills
- •Advanced Pistol & Rifle: Stress shooting, drawing from holster, target discrimination (shoot/no-shoot), movement, high-tempo follow-up shots
Tactical casualty care instruction for emergency response situations.
Viking 6 offers FREE introductory sessions (15 minutes to 1 hour) for community groups, clubs, churches, neighborhood associations, and workplaces. Topics include:
- •Women's Personal Safety & Family Protection: Spotting danger, decision-making under pressure, self-defense techniques, voice and body language, mindset building
- •What to Do After a Self-Defense Incident: How to communicate with 911 and law enforcement, legal rights and responsibilities, mental/emotional preparation
