Black River Valley Rod & Gun Club operates as a community sportsmen's facility serving central Vermont with multiple recreational shooting and fishing opportunities. Membership costs $40 per year (calendar year basis) and provides access to all club facilities.
Archery Range - Located at 231 Rod and Gun Club Road in Ludlow, Vermont - 50 and 75-yard shot distances - Functional setup suited for sighting bows or sharpening aim
Trap Range - Voice-activated clay machine - Clay fees: $5 per round (25 clays) or $10 for doubles (50 clays) - Members provide their own ammunition - Operating hours (weather permitting): - Wednesday: 3–8 pm - Thursday: 3–6 pm - Friday: 3–6 pm - Saturday: 12 noon–8 pm
Rifle & Pistol Range - Covered six-stall target range - Distances: 25, 50, and 100-yard shots - Available during daylight hours - Range continues to improve facilities over time
Members gain access to an 8-acre freshwater pond at Cooks Pond in Ludlow, stocked by the Vermont Fish and Game Department. Vermont State Fishing License required (purchased separately).
Membership applications can be printed from the website or obtained from Singleton's Country Store (356 Main Street, Proctorsville, VT). Mail completed applications with fees to:

Applications are also accepted at the trap range most Saturdays (May–October, 12 noon opening). New member cards include lock combination codes and vehicle stickers for full facility access.
The club enforces strict safety rules: eye and ear protection required on firing lines, no alcoholic beverages on premises, firearms cased or actions open until on the firing line, and designated target types only (no bottles, cans, or human silhouettes except for authorized law enforcement qualification). Full auto fire prohibited. Members are responsible for cleanup—pack out what you pack in.
