West Seattle Sportsmen's Club

West Seattle Sportsmen's Club operates the Roger Dahl Rifle Range, a 50-foot, 8-position facility designed specifically for precision shooting. It's a straightforward setup built for shooters who want consistent, controlled practice.

Firearms: - .22 caliber pistols and rifles only - Standard velocity ammunition (<1200fps) - 50-foot minimum shooting distance

Airguns: - Any caliber airgun accepted - Lead pellets only (no BBs, rubber, or pepper rounds) - 10-meter minimum shooting distance

The restricted caliber keeps noise down and makes the space manageable for a community facility in an urban setting.

Public Range Hours: - Monday: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM - Tuesday–Sunday: Closed

New members go through a voting process at monthly membership meetings.

The West Seattle Totems Junior Rifle Team is the club's competitive branch for ages 10-20. They compete locally, regionally, and nationally with experienced coaches. Several shooters have moved on to college shooting teams and earned scholarships. The program is currently on hold but actively accepting inquiries.

The club emphasizes foundational safety rules and offers Hunter Education courses for Washington residents born after January 1, 1972 (required before purchasing a hunting license in WA).
