Own Archery Outfitter?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Archery Outfitter operates out of Clayton, Washington—directly on the Washington panhandle border and just south of British Columbia. Owner Josh Judd and head guide Brian Jennen run a small-scale operation specifically built around one thing: finding big bucks and getting hunters in front of them.
They hunt with feed, not as a crutch but as a strategic tool. The operation uses 25 tons of certified weed-free 3rd cutting alfalfa annually, plus 5 tons of apples, 5 tons of corn, and 2 tons of salt with trace minerals and selenium. But the real work happens with trail cameras—they run roughly three dozen cameras year-round across remote mountain terrain. This isn't amateur hour: bucks know the difference between a natural feeding area and a baited stand, and they test every approach for 30-40 minutes before committing. One wrong move or sound and they disappear to a different zip code.
"Frank said you run a first rate outfitting business, the food is great and the stand placements are excellent. Most of all he said you're a no nonsense guide that doesn't pull any punches and you tell it like it is." — Danny Teague, Past President, Massachusetts Bowhunters Association
All are serious bow hunters who do this for the sport and the challenge, not mass production.

With roughly 36 trail cameras working the landscape, you're not sitting blind hope. They know where the quality animals are. Early 2017 results: 4 hunters total in early season with 3 kills; 8 hunters in late season with 5 kills. The cameras work continuously through 12 months of the year—they're not optional, they're foundational.
They're direct about this: if you've hunted whitetail in the East for 30 years, forget what you know. Mountain whitetail over feed operate differently. Bucks will stand off and listen before committing. Any noise ends the opportunity. What they ask of hunters:
Wounded animals are treated as harvested. If you want to continue hunting another species, it's $500 flat fee (same as a regular trophy fee).
Combo hunts (e.g., Elk/Deer) stay at $3,000 until one species is killed. Hunt the second species for an additional $500.

You get Canada-caliber trophy hunting without the border hassle, the double cost, or the paperwork. The bucks are big, the country is remote and wild, and the guides know what they're doing. But it's not easy—it's demanding, quiet, and requires you to show up practiced and disciplined. That's why they keep hunter numbers low and results consistent.
