Vancouver Rifle and Pistol Club (VRPC) was founded on November 29, 1958, when Orval Higdon donated the land for what would become Clark County's most established shooting facility. Today, VRPC operates as a private members-only club with a dedicated 50-foot indoor range, 12 firing points, and three distinct competitive programs.

Waiting list for new membership opens around March annually. Current wait time runs into 2026.
Thursday practical pistol shooters train in Bowling Pins, Steel Plates, and IPSC competition formats. The program emphasizes safe gun handling first—every session starts with a cold range safety review and one-on-one briefings for new shooters.
NRA Precision Pistol—also called Bullseye Pistol—has deep roots in American marksmanship history, with its modern format taking shape in the 1930s. This sport prioritizes accuracy, trigger control, and mental focus over speed.

New Member Orientation & Safety Class: All new members must attend a mandatory orientation and safety class (typically 2nd Tuesday of the month, 6:00–9:00 PM, following the board meeting). This covers VRPC-specific rules, range procedures, and safety protocols.
The club is currently at or near capacity. Invites to the waiting list are typically sent around March after annual renewals. Only ~50% of invited applicants move forward to membership.
