Def-Tac Training operates a private range in Wood County, West Virginia (approximately 3.5 miles from the intersection of State Route 2 and Route 31, near Parkersburg). Unlike ranges that sell guns and gear on the side, Def-Tac focuses exclusively on firearms instruction. They don't sell firearms, ammunition, or equipment—they train shooters.
Their goal is simple: provide professional, practical, and responsible firearms training to both law enforcement and private citizens, emphasizing safe handling, fundamental marksmanship, and basic tactical skills.
All Def-Tac instructors are National Rifle Association certified. The facility maintains an annual qualification program that rates instructors as Instructor, Senior Instructor, or Chief Instructor based on live-fire performance.
