Hartford Gun Club is a shooting sports facility 20 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, operating leagues and practice ranges for trap, 5-stand sporting clays, pistol, and archery since 1927.
The club operates 6 Pat Traps with cordless voice activation and heated machines that maintain consistent target speed in subzero Wisconsin winters. They throw all orange targets with flight height and speed checked daily against ATA regulations.
- •Stadium lighting: Four 1000-watt MH fixtures per trap (420,000 lumens total)
- •East-facing field with tree background and tall grass
- •Throws over 650,000 targets per year

- •Trap League Rules: Teams carry up to 9 shooters. Roster lock after week 3. Shooting averages determine division placement. Start time: must be on line within 5 minutes of scheduled time or shoot after league ends with a 2-yard penalty.
Summer 5-Stand League runs April-August with flexible shoot-your-schedule timing. 12 scores needed by August 24th across three 4-week levels:
- •White Level 1 – Four rounds of 5-singles
- •Pink Level 2 – Four rounds with singles, report pairs, true pairs
- •Blue Level 3 – Four rounds with singles and true pairs
$20 league fee. Sign up at trap desk.
Pistol practice available Tuesday-Wednesday nights (summer also Thursday). $6/half-hour for members, $8/half-hour for non-members. Pistol League: $50 members / $60 non-members.

Membership (May 1 - April 30): - Family: $75/year - Senior (62+): $45/year - Ages 18-24: $25/year
Board includes certified trap coaches Guy Tuxhorn (President/Chief RSO) and Randy Schmitt (Vice President), plus RSOs and instructors qualified in pistol, rifle, and shotgun. David Hanrahan oversees youth archery. Multiple certified pistol/shotgun instructors on staff.
Federal Firearms License Service: Hartford Gun Club is FFL-licensed and transfers firearms for members, member spouses, parents of youth shooters, active-duty law enforcement, and first responders. Long gun transfers: $10. Handgun transfers: $10 plus current WI DOJ fee. Up to 3 firearms per transfer. Must arrange in advance with Randy Schmitt or Guy Tuxhorn.

Youth trap, 5-stand, and archery programs with scholarship opportunities and certified youth instruction. Youth rates: $5.50 trap/5-stand, $5 archery.
