The club doesn't have full-time Range Safety Officers. Members are expected to police themselves and follow universal firearms safety rules at all times. Specific rules cover: - Eyes and ears (safety glasses and hearing protection) mandatory on all ranges - No tracer, incendiary, armor-piercing, or steel core ammunition - All projectiles must hit the impact berm - Metal targets only (AR400 or AR500 steel) - Pistol targets minimum 15 yards away; rifle targets minimum 100 yards - No rapid fire outside your target zone - Cold range protocol when targets need to be serviced

Active military personnel on leave can use the ranges without membership if they have credentials and a leave pass.

Portage is serious about compliance. Members: - Must be 18+ (exceptions for youth accompanied by adults) - Receive a membership card and gate code - Can bring one guest at a time on a one-day membership ($10) - Cannot hunt with guests (hunting only for members) - Must track and complete 4 work hours annually - Face expulsion for property destruction, poor sportsmanship, or rule violations
