"Shot opportunity is 90% to 100% most years." — Beaver Trap Outfitters
They limit the number of hunters taken per season to maintain trophy quality from year to year. Archery elk hunts are 1x1 (one guide per hunter). Rifle hunts typically run 2x1 unless upgraded. The guides specialize in calling bugling bulls in September and glassing for mature animals across open country.
For mountain lion hunts, they use home-trained hounds to tree cats. The hunt is described as "one-on-one" and "heart-pounding"—clients say it's the kind of experience that generates stories for years.
Cow elk hunts on 6,000 private acres in Unit 38 offer a more affordable entry point into Wyoming elk hunting while supporting herd management goals.
