Crooked Sky Outfitters started in the late 1980s when Stewart Petersen partnered with his uncle Sharon Dayton. What began as a single operation has grown into a full-service outfitting company headquartered in Cokeville, Wyoming—just south of Star Valley.
"For the last 30+ years we have been able to meet so many good people sitting around our campfires and share with them our love for the great outdoors."
Fall Hunts - Elk hunts (archery and rifle) for Rocky Mountain Elk in expertly managed camps - Mule deer hunts in Wyoming's premier hunting areas - Moose and antelope hunts
Summer Adventures - Pack trips deep into Bridger National Forest via horseback - Fly fishing excursions on pristine waters - Fishing spots include Coantag Creek, Lake Alice, Hobble Creek, Smith's Fork of the Bear River, and Poker Creek - Species available: brook trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout, and Bonneville cutthroat trout
Their hunting areas have a proven track record of producing trophy elk and exceptional mule deer bucks. The fishing waters they access are known for both quantity and quality, including rare Bonneville cutthroat trout. Summer pack trips combine horseback travel with access to hidden lakes and remote streams in pristine wilderness.
They operate in one of Wyoming's premier hunting and fishing regions with camps fully equipped for extended backcountry stays.
Crooked Sky emphasizes camaraderie, stunning views, and time around the campfire. Their guides know the terrain intimately and understand what it takes to hunt successfully in challenging backcountry—whether you're after trophy elk with a bow or rifle, or targeting big mule deer bucks.
