Elk Mountain Outfitters

Elk Mountain Outfitters is a full-time family operation that's been running hunts and pack trips across southeastern Wyoming for over 50 years. They hunt Albany, Carbon, and Platte Counties on private land they own or have exclusive leases on, plus permitted areas on National Forest, BLM, and State of Wyoming lands.

• •Elk - Trophy-class bull hunts in limited quota areas 7 and 11, plus general archery areas on National Forest lands. 100% opportunity on trophy bulls from their proven ranches, and critically—these areas have no wolf or grizzly populations.

• •Bighorn Sheep - The Wakkuri family has been hunting bighorn sheep statewide since 1964. Extensive pre-season scouting and deep knowledge of sheep behavior drive consistent success and quality rams. This is their flagship hunt.

• •Moose - Shiras moose in Area 38, one of Wyoming's top units. Harvested bulls typically run 45-55" wide with Boone & Crockett quality and significant mass.

• •Mule Deer - Ranch hunts on managed private land that's produced big bucks for 20+ years, plus mountain hunts (more physical, uses horses/mules).

• •Whitetail Deer - Private land in southeast Wyoming. They've produced non-typical bucks scoring 201 6/8 and typical bucks at 184 5/8.

• •Antelope - April-May seasons on over 100,000 acres of ranch land. Rifle, archery, and muzzleloading options.

• •Turkey - Merriam's turkey hunts in April and May across river bottoms, fields, and ponderosa pine mountains.

Primarily 4x4 vehicles with horses and mules used when terrain requires it. Experienced backcountry guides, tough mountain stock, and extensive knowledge of the country separates them from one-trip operations.
