Full description and what we offer
Greys River Outfitters runs hunting operations on the Bridger-Teton National Forest under a special use permit, licensed by the Wyoming Board of Outfitters & Professional Guides (License #BG-258). Based in Thayne, they guide hunters into units 90, 92, and 94 with a focus on elk, mule deer, mountain lions, and black bears.
They offer both archery and rifle elk hunts during multiple fall seasons. Archery hunts are action-packed—guides locate bulls bugling in dark timber or spot herds in open parks and aspen stands. The challenge is working through satellite bulls to get at the herd bull.
Rifle hunts happen later in the fall when bulls have finished rutting and moved to higher elevations. Hunters spot bulls from distance and execute stalks. These hunts have high success rates.

Hunts take place in mountain terrain with opportunities to see mule deer, elk, and moose. Guides use horses to cover ground efficiently, then hunt on foot. Customers praise the well-maintained camp, excellent meals, and strong success rates.
Lion hunts run late November through January. Guides cut canyons by truck, ATV, or snowmobile looking for tracks. Once a track is located, GPS-collared hounds are released to tree the lion. Most shots are under 20 yards.
Spring bear hunts use bait stations with very high success rates. Hunters can choose archery or rifle. Greys River has a wide range of color phases—black, cinnamon, chocolate, and blonde bears. Fall hunts also available with high success.

"I have been hunting with Grey's River annually since 2012. The late season cow hunt has given me the opportunity to introduce my boys to elk hunting at an affordable price. The rugged scenery is exactly what a mountain hunt should look like." — Paul Colson
"From the time we arrived at camp we felt at home. The camp was fun, the food plentiful and delicious, and the scenery was picture perfect." — Joe Sagona
Base camp is well-organized and equipped with comfortable lodging, hot meals, and hot showers. They maintain a quality horse string for covering miles and accessing remote terrain.
