Full description and what we offer
H.I.T.S. is a premier tactical training facility located in Casper, Wyoming, specializing in reality-based defensive firearms training, combatives, tactical medicine, and defensive tactics for all skill levels. Unlike traditional shooting ranges, H.I.T.S. focuses on preparing students for genuine life-threatening encounters through scenario-based, practical instruction grounded in real-world application.
Founded and led by Henk Iverson, a 30+ year veteran of the special operations training community, H.I.T.S. cuts through conventional training dogma to deliver honest, effective defensive skills. The facility serves civilians, law enforcement officers (LEO), and special forces personnel from all U.S. military branches and allied nations.
H.I.T.S. offers comprehensive courses including: - Firearms training — pistol, rifle, and tactical shooting courses from beginner to advanced levels - Combatives and defensive tactics — hand-to-hand combat and tactical response training - Tactical medicine — emergency medical response and first aid for high-stress situations - Specialized courses — women-specific training and law enforcement-focused instruction
All courses are designed to build genuine confidence and competency, emphasizing the gap between wanting to defend yourself and being truly prepared to do so.
The H.I.T.S. team combines decades of collective experience across military special operations, law enforcement, emergency medicine, and firearms instruction. Lead medical instructor Joe Monfre, M.D., is a cardiothoracic surgeon with 10+ years of tactical medicine training experience. The entire staff shares a commitment to student success and ego-free professional conduct.
Prospective students can book courses through the H.I.T.S. website or contact the facility directly. Training programs accommodate various experience levels, from complete beginners seeking foundational skills to experienced operators seeking advanced tactical development.
