J and H Firearms Training delivers NRA-certified courses taught by instructors with law enforcement backgrounds. Safety isn't just a talking point—it's built into every class they run.
Their standard lineup covers the fundamentals:
- •NRA Basic Pistol – Covers safety rules, revolver and semi-automatic operation, ammunition selection, storage, fundamentals, and live-fire qualification
- •NRA Basic Rifle – 8+ hours of classroom and range time, covering safe handling, parts, shooting positions (bench, prone, sitting, standing, kneeling), and cleaning
- •NRA Basic Shotgun – 10+ hours focused on safe shotgun handling and shooting moving targets
- •NRA Defensive Pistol – For concealed carry, emphasizing mindset, drawing from holster, mental awareness, and practical scenarios
- •NRA CCW Course – Instructor-led classroom and range training for concealed carry certification
Specialty classes include:
- •Advanced CCW and defensive pistol progression
- •Low-light shooting (introduction, intermediate, advanced)
- •Carbine training (introduction through advanced)
- •Intermediate and advanced shotgun courses
- •Force-on-Force training and Less-Lethal instruction
- •Range Safety Officer certification
- •One-on-one private lessons
- •Women on Target programs
Students receive NRA handbooks, gun safety materials, marksmanship qualification booklets, take a course exam, and earn a course completion certificate signed by the NRA Secretary and their instructor.
All courses are taught by NRA Certified Instructors with law enforcement experience. That background translates directly into the instruction—it's not just by-the-book training.
Classes run at their own pace with continued skill development opportunities. Whether you're picking up a gun for the first time or refining defensive tactics, the curriculum is structured to move you from fundamentals to competency in a structured, safe environment.
